Hello and welcome to the Museum of the Horseless Carriage Touring Club website!
The term “Horseless Carriage” was initially coined when automobiles first arrived on the public scene around the turn of the twentieth century. A Horseless Carriage essentially performed the same functions as a horse-drawn carriage. However, instead of being propelled by a horse, a horseless carriage was propelled by an alternate power source. In this early era they were actually closer to a carriage than what we would now call a “car.”
